The Latin Americas
The use of the plural is required. To reiterate this point are not only the most recent debates but the same nature of an exterminated land to say the least. It is a forcing to use the singular genre. A nonsense which has dragged on for centuries, from which passes over in silence the great vivacity of the “Latinos”, metropolitan men and woman, Spanglish, globetrotter, with a strong sense of identity. To enter into their world, we need to think, to see “in their own way”. The occasion is “Latinamente”, exhibition born from the encounter between Dores Sacquegna and Bartus Bartolomes, Venezuelan artist also known in italy for his frequentations with Lamberto Pignotti, Carlo Marcelo Conti, Adriano Spatola, and the entourage of the visual art In the house of art “Primo Piano” in Lecce, they present a rose of six artists, “latinos” thoroughbred, as Ricardo B. Sanchez, Paola Puppio Zingg, Carlos Anzola, Astolfo Funes, José Gregorio Coronel Ortega and Bartolomes, joined by a language definitely voted to pop. A style that specifically represents the triumph of a third culture, both amenable to the European roots of these artists as the Americans ones. The works of the Italian Carlo Marcello Conti and the American Scott Alger complete the collective. They also called in question to give their own contribution in “Latinamente”. The first presents a work on identity, dressing of scripture and colors the orthographic projections of the nations. Alger, instead, is a photographer. His works, characterized by lighting and fluor trajectories, play on the thread of reality and fiction.
